Overview
The 11 hectactre property (recently named to Travel + Leisure’s It List for 2015) is next to a river and full of local wildlife like to view during your stay. If you are a lover of all things horticulture, you are also in for a treat. From May to October, you will enjoy beautiful flowering plants and bushes. Norden Camp was founded by Tibetan Nomad Yidam Kyap. His vision for socially conscious luxury lodging has come to fruition in the form of Norden Camp.
Outdoor Activities
During your stay at Norden Camp, you can enjoy the outdoors through hiking, bird watching, horseback riding, or camping. If you prefer a more relaxing experience, try out the spa, shopping, or just sitting by the bonfire. There are also many opportunities to enjoy Tibetan culture– whether through spending time with a Tibetan nomad family, having lunch with a Tibetan monk, or visiting the Labrang Monastery.
Lodging
When you arrive at Norden Camp, you will find seven log cabins, four yak hair tents, and three reception tents. All accommodations are fully appointed with wooden floors and luxury linens. The cabins have heating, and all of the lodging is decorated and furnished with locally sourced items.
Cuisine
The cuisine at Norden Camp consist of locally sourced ingredients and traditional Norden fare. Meals are designed around seasonal fruits and vegetables, all organic by nature. Bread is traditionally baked on the premises and meat offerings include lamb and local Black Pig.
