As I wrote in the previous post, La Folie Douce is a fab place to stop off on the slopes for great food and drinks. It is also one of the best après ski destinations in Europe. Try to arrive between 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. to hit the height of the partying where the gypset and jetset alike party hard in this magnificent scenic setting. But don’t forget you will have to ski back down the mountain to the resort. If it is snowing as it was upon our departure, it makes for an interesting journey down the mountain! That said, navigating your way back down (carefully) is part of the adventure and makes for a great story to tell. 😉
One of the unique attractions at La Folie Douce is the afternoon cabaret that takes place on a 360° stage. Although the temperature may drop to -15°, the cocktails, entertainment, and dancing will keep you nice and toasty! The show runs from 2:15-3:00 p.m. every day, and you can view it from the terrace, La Fruitière, and Nuvoself.
If you are into clubbing, La Folie Douce will not disappoint. You will hear the thumping bass before you even get off the chairlift! You will hear a variety of music from live singers, bands, and DJ John. If the temperature is threatening your dance moves, don’t fret–La Folie Douce has warm blankets and duvets on hand to keep you warm.
So check your skis and snowboard with a staff member and get ready to have the après ski experience of your life! You can even organize a private party for you and all of your friends, complete with a torch-lit descent down the mountain.
I may never live such a glamorous life, but i can live through you! Amazing pictures!
