The Holidays are just around the corner, and many of us will be gypsetting to warm and exotic locals. For me a piece or two from the Maiyet Resort 2014 collection is the perfect look for your gypset travel. Maiyet is a relatively new (2011) socially conscious clothing company based in New York City. The company employs many artisans in developing nations to aide in the production of their beautiful garments. The result is a stunning clothing line featuring hand woven fabrics and other intricate details.
The Resort 2014 collection is the first collection under creative director Kristy Caylor (company co-founder), who took the helm after the departure of previous designer Gabriella Zanzani. The Maiyet Resort 2014 line echoes other designer lines that were unveiled last June, with the inclusion of African influences and twenties lingerie designs.
Items shown in Resort 2014 feature trademark Maiyet block-print designs and Varanasi silk. The collection is a mix of solids and prints and features a lot of black, white, cream, and orange. Asymmetrical shirt dresses also make an appearance, along with mid-riff baring shirts and shorts.
If you are looking for some unique additions to bring along on your next gypset vacation, think about including some pieces from Maiyet’s resort wear. You can purchase Maiyet clothing at Barney’s New York (exclusive U.S. retailer) or shop their site online.
Those are beautiful pieces and look so effortless. I don’t have a body like that, but I know a few people who could truly rock these with no problem!
they have some gorgeous pieces~ and jewelry too! Would love to add the gold/grey horn cuff to my collection!
