As it is Earth Day today, this makes most of us think about our carbon footprint and the long-term effect it will leave. So, I thought a good way to introduce Travel Tip Tuesday to you all would be with energy saving in mind. Our phones aren’t the greenest method of communication, but they are necessary in this day and age– on a daily basis. We can’t live without our phones!
Running low on a phone charge always happens at the most inopportune times. It happens to us all. You’ve just landed for your layover and turned on your phone to see that the dreaded “less than 20%” message pop up on your screen. You only have an hour to get to your connecting gate and find a plug for a quick charge, which usually won’t get you very far if you are fortunate enough to have wi-fi on your next flight or you pass your time in the air chillin’ out to your favorite tunes.
That said, my first travel tip for you, whether you are in an airport or running around for work and need some juice is, is to charge your phone on airplane mode. If you shut it down it doesn’t need to work as hard, hence the quick charge. It’s easier than shutting the phone completely off, and you can still listen to your tunes. Using this method to charge your phone, you will be lessening your carbon footprint– making you and the environment happier. 😉
