We came across the Tribe Hotel while looking for a cool & chic place to stay on our recent trip to Nairobi. The name alone intrigued us to learn more, but it was the incredible experience of staying here that made us come back twice during this latest adventure, along with discovering the ethos behind Tribes view of the world and how they embrace diversity and equality in humanity sealed the deal for us.
“Tribe was conceived from a simple belief: that we coexist on a single planet and there is only one Tribe that matters… humankind. The interdependence of today’s societies and the speed at which networks are being built, make it increasingly apparent that unity is the foundation of a dignified, sophisticated and prosperous world community. It is this spirit that governed every stage of Tribe’s development and is central to its operational mission statement.” ~ Tribe Hotel
Location is Everything
Located in Nairobi’s diplomatic district near the United Nations, the Tribe Hotel is just steps from the Village Market shopping center. Also nearby is the Karura Forest, Nairobi’s own urban oasis offering breathtaking views and a quiet, safe respite from the rush of the city.
Experience World-Class Service
I can’t say enough about the wonderful Tribe Hotel team. From general manager Stephan Meeves, to the restaurant staff and concierge, everyone was helpful, friendly, and so accommodating. One receptionist at the spa even offered to pick-up an amazing hair piece I had been admiring on her despite it only being available at an outside location. Talk about going above and beyond your job description. The service is unparalleled!
Treat Yourself to the Best
Among the Tribe Hotel’s many superb amenities is the Kaya Spa. Awarded the World’s Luxury Spa Award in 2016 and named one of Conde Nast Traveler’s “hottest urban retreats in the world”, here you can enjoy the best of what’s buzzing in the world of pampering. I personally indulged in the Kaya Massage. It was truly one of the best massages I’ve ever had.
Sip, Dine, and Chill
The spacious courtyard offers sunny and shady spots to enjoy the serene pool and waterfall. Grab a cocktail or an absolutely delicious meal from the masterful restaurant Jiko. You’ll find delightful flavors from many cultures and fresh ingredients.
One of my favorite spaces at Tribe was the rooftop bar, Nest. It’s such a vibrant atmosphere and a great place to meet other guests.
From sunrise to sunset, Tribe truly has you covered for an amazing and unforgettable experience in Nairobi. Be sure to check out the video we made while there for an up-close look at this amazing property.
